Agreement of 100 transports with Homarus Europe Ltd.

Aqualife A/S has signed an agreement with the British company Homarus Europe Ltd. of 100 transports of fresh/living lobsters and other shellfish from Canada to Europe in 2010. The transports begin after the establishment of the first AQUAPORT in the city Urk in the Netherlands in April. The agreement contains at the same time a declaration of intent of buying another 150 transports in 2011. The agreement is expected to generate a sale of 6,5 M DKK in 2010 and 10 M DKK in 2011.

Today, Homarus is market leading in sale of, among other things, European lobsters in Europe, where the company is among the suppliers to some of the major French retailers.

Homarus is expecting increased cooperation with several big retail chains primarily in France. In advance for the agreement, Homarus has secured the sale through intention agreements with several clients and retail chains.
With the sale of the first AQUAPORT to Urk and other contracts, the cooperation with Homarus indicates that a large part of AQUALIFEs  estimated sales for 2010 is now contractual secured. The agreement with Homarus requires that the expected AQUAPORT infrastructure in respectively the Netherlands and Canada is established and implemented in time, so that it is possible to handle the increased number of freightage during 2010.

”The agreement with HOMARUS involves that we now, to a greater extent, can focus on the operational part of our business. In that connection we will work on optimizing the first corridor between Canada and Europe in all its parts”, AQUALIFEs Chief Operating Officer, Lars Nygaard Jepsen, states.

The development in the International retailing sector is obviously heading for a more eco-friendly profile. On these grounds, AQUALIFE expects in cooperation with Homarus Europe Ltd. to get access to new markets.
